Webinar on Plagiarism and Mendeley Software

Department of Library and Information Science and NDLI Club of PES’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy, Ponda- Goa organized a webinar on the topic “Plagiarism and Mendeley software” on 8th May 2021 from 10 am to 12 pm.

The resource person for the webinar was Dr. Gopakumar V., Chief Librarian of Goa University.

Webinar was coordinated by the Librarian of the college Mrs. Prayangi V. Matonkar and I.T.Officer Ms. Sarika S.S. Kerkar.

Dr. S. N. Mamle Desai, Principal of the college delivered welcome address. While introducing the webinar he said that Plagiarism is an unethical aspect and considered serious academic crime. One should refrain from such activities to maintain academic integrity.

Dr. Ajit Godbole, HOD of Pharmaceutics, formally introduced the resource person. Later, resource person of the webinar Dr. Gopakumar V. took charge of the session.

Dr. Gopakumar V. gave deep insight into the topic of Plagiarism, its consequences and how to avoid it. Resource person gave live demo on Mendeley software for reference management and explained how to conduct research using this software. After the demo Dr. Gopakumar V. had interaction with participants. Many participants asked their queries and got their doubts cleared. This webinar was arranged to increase awareness on Plagiarism, its consequences and also usage of reference management tool Mendeley among students and faculty of PES’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy.

Total 175 participants consisting of faculty and student attended the webinar.
Webinar was concluded with vote of thanks by the college librarian Mrs. Prayangi V. Matonkar.
