Continuing Pharmacy Education Program

Online Continuing Pharmacy Education program was organised by Ponda Education Society’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar college of pharmacy Farmagudi-Ponda Goa, in Association with Goa state Pharmacy Council and Indian Pharmaceutical Association-Community Pharmacy Division for the Registered pharmacist and practicing pharmacist of Goa state on 8th May 2021.
The objective of the CPE was to upgrade and enhance the knowledge of the pharmacist to fulfil their duties towards patients and community.

Shri. Ravi S.Naik, MLA (Ex Chief Minister-Goa State), President Ponda Education society was Chief Patron for the program.

CPE was inaugurated by Shri. Ritesh R Naik, Secretary Ponda Education Society. Shri Ritesh Naik in his inaugural address said Continuing Pharmacy program for pharmacist always give scope for learning, Improvement and upgradation of knowledge.

Mrs. Manjiri Gharat Chairperson IPA-CPD in her opening remark said that Pharmacist should enhance their bonding with the patients by giving them efficient and competent service and enriching their knowledge by regularly attending CPE program. Mrs. Manjiri Gharat also appreciated the excellent model of continuing pharmacy education developed by state of Goa. She also acknowledged the service of pharmacists as front line warrior fighting with the Pandemic.

Dr. Tejas Kamat delivered the talk on the topic “Covid Vaccine Myths and facts: What we should know” Dr. Kamat made the session interactive by clearing the doubts of the pharmacist and elevated the knowledge of the pharmacist regarding covid vaccine.

Dr. P.V Rataboli, Professor and Head of Department of Pharmacology, Goa Medical College delivered the talk on “Look alike Sound alike Drug names and Drug Brands: Nightmare of Doctors and Pharmacists” Dr. Rataboli emphasised the need of vigilance while dispensing such medications and to avoid possible dispensing medication error.
250 Practicing pharmacist from all over the Goa participated in the CPE.

Dr. S.N Mamle Dessai, Principal PES’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar college of Pharmacy recognised speakers perspective in the closing remarks.

Dr.Pearl Dighe, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics was the moderator for the event.

Dr. Mangirish Deshpande, Assistant professor, Department of Pharmacology and Ms. Soniya Naik, Assistant Professor Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry coordinated the program.
