Ponda Education Society, Farmagudi-Ponda, Goa in association with Department of Forest, Government of Goa, organized Vanamahotsav 2021, a tree plantation drive on 16th June 2021.
Speaking on the occasion Hon. MLA Ponda Constituency, Shri Ravi S. Naik, President of Ponda Education Society, explained the motto of the Society to have a clean and green campus. Accordingly, Vanamahotsav is celebrated every year with emphasis on planting all types of fruit bearing and medicinal plants so as to ensure a conducive environment to the health and wellbeing of mankind.
Dr. S.N. Mamle Desai, Principal of P.E.S.’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy highlighted the importance of growing trees and its benefits to society.
The program was attended by the Deputy Director of Forests, Shri. Phadte and other forest officials who have taken up this initiative of tree plantation drive across the state, so as to increase the forest cover in an attempt to combat the climate change due to increased deforestation across the globe.
Staff and the Principals of other P.E.S. institutions graced the occasion.
