National webinar on “ DELNET- Network Resources and Services: Discovery Portal and Knowledge Gainer Portal”
Department of Library of Ponda Education Society’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy, Ponda- Goa in association with DELNET- Developing Library Network, New Delhi organized a National webinar on the topic “ DELNET- Network Resources and Services: Discovery Portal and Knowledge Gainer Portal” on 25th January 2021 from 3 pm to 4.30 pm.
DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store and disseminate information besides offering computerized services to users.
The resource person for the webinar was Dr. Sangeeta Kaul, Director, DELNET. Webinar started at 3. pm. Dr. Ajit Godbole, HOD, Pharmaceutics, PES’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy gave the inaugural speech for the webinar followed by welcome note by librarian Mrs. Prayangi Vishal Matonkar. Later, Dr. Sangeeta Kaul took charge of the session.
Dr. Kaul gave deep insight into Inter Library Loan, Document Delivery Service, Knowledge gainer portal, language learning, E- thesis and E-dissertation searching etc. Resource person gave live demo on how to search e- books, e- journals and dissertation from the database. She also explained DELPUS software for library automation and how to request for Inter Library Loan.
After the demo Dr. Sangeeta Kaul had interaction with participants. Many participants asked their queries and got their doubts cleared. Webinar was concluded with vote of thanks by the college librarian Mrs. Prayangi Vishal Matonkar.
This webinar was arranged to increase awareness and usage of DELNET among students and faculty of PES’s Rajaram and Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy and also among library professionals from other institutes of Goa and other states of India. Total 195 participants from 22 different state of India participated in the webinar, out of which 96 were from Goa and 99 from various other institutes of India. All participants were given E- certificate after the webinar.
